Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges values the privacy and security of the information you share with us. This Privacy Statement applies to information collected through Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges (the “website”). This Statement describes how Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges collects, uses, shares, protects, or otherwise processes your personal information. By using this website, you agree to the terms of this Privacy Statement.
Reservations can be transferred to a named person and the date of arrival can be amended providing it is at least 30 days prior to arrival, subject to an administration fee of £15.00.
All rooms will be held until 7.00 pm on the day of your arrival, if you are arriving after this time you must inform us before this time otherwise your reservation will be cancelled and you will not be entitled to a refund.
For promotional and voucher bookings, discounted promotional and voucher reservations including promotional upgrades are non-cancellable and non-refundable and you should refer to the terms and conditions specific to the voucher or promotion for further information.
For reservations made through third party websites, please read their cancellation policy.
For guests on non discounted stays, booked direct or through our third party partners, to receive a full refund, cancellations must be made at least 30 days prior to arrival. If you cancel without 30 days notice we reserve the right to withhold all monies paid.
OUR PET POLICY
Portsonachan is a Dog friendly hotel and we welcome up to TWO well behaved Adult dogs per accommodation. A charge will be applicable and this is currently £7,50 per dog per night. You must book in advance as there is a limit to the amount of dogs that we can accommodate. No charge will be applicable for Fully Certified Guide and Assistance dogs.
Pets should be fully trained and appropriately restrained by the owner and out of respect to other guests, and in the interest of safety, we kindly request that dogs are kept on their leash when in the Hotel Property and on the roads.
We politely request that you bring doggy bedding and towels with you, and with future guests in mind, you do not allow your dogs on the sofas or beds.
Dogs are not permitted in the Restaurant nor bar areas, and will only be allowed into the Reception area and the Conservatory. Guests dining at the hotel must pre-book if they wish to bring their dogs. This will reduce the possible waiting times to be seated and will allow us to have a suitable table available in the conservatory. If you do not pre-book we cannot guarantee that a table will be available. Fully Certified Guide and Assistance dogs will be allowed in all communal areas.
Guests must clean up after their dog, if they poop you scoop! Failure to do so may result in pet owners being asked to leave without any compensation for any unused accommodation along with a £100 fine.
Guests are fully responsible for all property damages and/or injuries caused by their pets. Guests agree to indemnify the hotel, its owners and its operators and staff from all liability and damage suffered as a result of the guest’s pet(s). The hotel reserves the right to make the appropriate charges to the guests account for such damages.
All dogs banned under the Dangerous Dogs Act will be refused entry to the Hotel, its accommodation and grounds.
Collection and Use of Information
Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges collects personal information to set up and manage accounts for our social commerce services. You may need to provide Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges with personal information such as:
name and email address.
Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges uses such information for:
– website registration;
– enabling sales and other transactions;
– processing payments and settlement;
– measuring, improving, and customizing our services;
– fulfilling other technical, logistical, financial, tax, legal, compliance, administrative, or back office functions.

Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges combines technical and physical safeguards with employee policies and procedures to protect your information. We work to protect your personal information during transmission by using Secure Sockets Layer software, which encrypts the information that you provide online at our website. We will use commercially reasonable efforts to protect your information. We will also continue to assess new technology for protecting information and upgrade our information security systems when appropriate.
Further, we permit only authorized Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges employees to access any personal information. If an employee misuses personal information, we may take disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment. If any third party individual or organization misuses personal information, we will take action, up to and including termination of any agreement between Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges and that individual or organization.
Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges processes personal information only for the purposes it was originally collected and in accordance with this Privacy Statement. Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges takes commercially reasonable steps to ensure that the personal data is relevant, reliable for its intended use, accurate, complete, and current for the purposes for which it is used. Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges retains information for as long as reasonably required for business purposes or as reasonably required to comply with our legal obligations.
OUR SMOKING POLICY
Portsonachan Hotel & Lodges has a strict NO smoking policy throughout all Guest Accommodation, Bar, Restaurant and all other indoor areas. Although smoking is not permitted within the Hotel & Guest Accommodation, Guests who smoke are permitted to do so outside in the designated areas. Please note that this policy also applies to ECigarettes. Smoking is permitted on private balconies/terraces providing that the balcony/terrace door is closed to ensure that smoke does not enter the Accommodation.
In the interest of safety and fire prevention, we kindly ask you to ensure that your Cigarettes/Cigars are properly extinguished before their disposal.
Portsonachan respectfully requests that guests adhere to this policy.
In the event that a Guest smokes inside their Accommodation the Hotel reserves the right to charge a £100 Deep Cleaning Fee to the room occupant.

What rights do you have?
As a data subject, you have the following rights under the Data Protection Legislation:

We use data processors who are third parties who provide elements of services for us. We have contracts in place with our data processors. Right to ask us to stop contacting you
You can ask us to stop contacting you. If you would like to do this, please:
- email, call or write to us.You can also click on the ‘unsubscribe’ button at the bottom of any email sent to you from us. It may take up to 5 days for this to take place; and
- let us know what method of contact you are not happy with if you are unhappy with certain ways of contacting you only (for example, you may be happy for us to contact you by email but not by telephone).
We will provide you with information on action taken on a request to stop contacting you – this may be in the form of a response email confirming that you have ‘unsubscribed’.
Right to restrict or prevent processing of personal data
In accordance with Data Protection Legislation, you may request that we stop processing your personal data temporarily if:
- you do not think that your data is accurate (but we will start processing again once we have checked and confirmed that it is accurate);
- the processing is unlawful but you do not want us to erase your data;
- we no longer need the personal data for our processing, but you need the data to establish, exercise or defend legal claims; or
